"It's all about making memories"

-Rebecca

I received a phonecall with the area code from Edinburgh, and the loveliest of persons on the other end of the line. After a good old chat on the phone, I had learnt a lot about Rebecca & Eric; they love Corfu and holiday here every year down in Messongi, and that they love a good jetty. Thankfully, we have an abundance of jetty's here on this gloriously plush island, and so we excitedly got to planning her dream wedding day, with a symbolic blessing on a jetty with a sea view.

This was one of my smallest, most intimate weddings to date: with just 12 guests in total, this was to be the most cherished day in a lifetime, witnessed purely by the couples nearest and dearest.

They were equally not my youngest couple, but nothing held them back from showing the world their love for each other. And why should they, love exists at any age, and in any walk of life.

Love deserves to be celebrated, always.

Luxury transport - arriving in style

After our getting ready with her chosen hair and make-up artist, Rebecca rocked up to her ceremony in utter style. Our amazing bride arranged her own luxury style speed boat to transport her and her son to the ceremony jetty, where her guests and husband to be were already waiting for her.

Rebecca loved the idea of having our Greek mariachi band there to serenade her upon arrival, and so of course I delivered!

A ceremony on a jetty

And so began a simply stunning ceremony, with their close friends & family witnessing our couple being blessed.

Rebecca dreamed of an abundance of romantic white roses for her wedding day; a vision of true romance and a perfect contrast against the deep blue of the gently lapping waves of the serene Ionian Sea.

The end of a beautiful ceremony

The ceremony was finished off with the signing of the marriage certificate, and the good old Greek tradition of throwing off the rice. But Sarah also wanted to keep the British tradition of throwing of some petals as well, which made for some truly memorable moments for our newly weds and their surrounding family.

The reception: A hidden treasure

Everyone then headed on to the afternoons reception, held at one of my favourite tavernas; a hidden treasure in the beautiful Boukari.

We adorned the tables with a flurry of candles, adding pure romance to this classy atmosphere. In amongst the candles we placed Rebecca and Eric's chosen wedding favours: the islands traditional sort after Kumquat liquor for the ladies, and a hand crafted leather keyring for the men. They went down a real treat!

Rebecca also loved our little added touch of the "advice for the couples cards" that we placed on the tables for all the guests, as some interesting conversation starters. There were quite a few laughs shared with these bad boys I must say!

The end of the day was the icing on the cake... literally!

The day came to an end with our newly weds cutting their beautifully made wedding cake. The ever popular naked cake, with the softest, fluffiest vanilla sponge with the subtlest undertone hints of orange. I can confirm, our lead cake maker excelled with this cake, and every guest went back in for seconds!

Rebecca & Eric, thank you for showing the world that romance is not dead, and you truly can fall in love and join together at any stage in this lifetime. You have really shown me something special, and it was an absolute honour to organise your dream wedding day. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for choosing me to bring everything together for your special day.

As said by Rebecca herself,

"IT'S ALL ABOUT MAKING MEMORIES"

And boy, did you certainly do that.

Cheers to your love, you two.

"From the dark months of cold, wet, and dreary Scotland our dream came into reality when we decided to get married on the Island of Corfu in June. We discovered a Wedding Planner by the name of Janet Reitman, from there the sun shone and continued right till the end of our beautiful day on 6/6/23.

After the first call to Janet, I knew she got it! Her experience in wedding planning was obvious.

Our day was not just perfect, it was so much more than that with little details unknown to us and the atmosphere created made it a truly amazing experience.

From the Celebrant Harriett to the cake maker Claire to the town hall planner Ann ,hair & makeup Rebecca , and of course Keith (Janet’s Hubby) the whole team was faultless.

Our hearts are still tingling with the fabulous memory we have of our day.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Janet, you won’t regret it."
